Tom Warner

Tom Warner is an independent filmmaker, DP and motion designer based in Longyearbyen, Svalbard.

With a background in commercial design, 2D/3D motion graphics and visualisation, Tom has spent close to 20 years working across film, design and visual storytelling. After several years in brand design agencies in London and Amsterdam, he now focuses on documentary-style filmmaking, branded content, cultural projects and visual storytelling in the Arctic.

His work combines strong visual craft with hands-on production experience in remote environments. He works across the full production process, from concept development, filming, interviews and drone work through to editing, motion design and final delivery.

Alongside commissioned work, Tom’s creative practice explores human stories, place, the complexities of the human condition and philosophical ideas. His projects often take process-driven and experimental forms, evolving through collaboration, context and the environment in which they are made.

Tom has worked with clients and collaborators including ABC News, National Geographic, Sony Group Corporation, Paramount / United International Pictures, Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum, Artica Svalbard, Nordover, Svalbard Museum, Store Norske, Visit Svalbard and PolarJazz Festival.

Tom also supports visiting filmmakers and media teams working in Svalbard, assisting with logistics, location scouting, production support and local context. He is a licensed A2 drone pilot and is frequently commissioned for aerial drone photography and videography.
